Animals with bellybuttons are so cute, and no one can deny it!
Stuffed animals are my favorite things to create! I hope you'll love this little guy as much as I do! This BellyBoop Crochet Bear is so much fun to make!
This adorable bear has to be my favorite creation that I've made in a while. His little bellybutton makes him even cuter; and you can push it in and back out, making a cute, snuggly fidget toy. My two-year-old son loves these guys and has almost claimed a couple of my prototypes. Fortunately, he loves trucks more than stuffed animals, so I was able to get them back!
This BellyBoop Crochet Bear is created as a low-sew pattern. You crochet the arms into the body, but you sew on the snout, ears and tail. I prefer using cotton blend yarn to sew as opposed to the plush. It just makes it easier, and you don't waste a lot of your precious plush.
As for the plush yarn, I LOVE Loops & Threads Sweet Snuggles Lite, which is what I used to make him. It's tough and so soft, and it doesn't take much to create a bear about 12-14". The yarn does have some shedding at the ends, but I usually just hit it with the lighter flame to ensure that it doesn't come apart. That doesn't take away how much I love this yarn, though.
I usually prefer to sew eyes onto my stuffies, to make sure they're safe for the little ones, but recently I've been into safety eyes. I do forget to put them in sometimes, though. Haha. Embroidering the face is so fun and relaxing to me, so it's never a huge deal.
Ever since I was little I've loved stuffed animals. They're so soft, and they can comfort anyone. They have their own personalities if they're made correctly, and that's what I strive to do! It's my mission to create stuffed animals that will comfort the kids that adopt them, and will be their friends for as long as they need!
